Film on Feature
Photojournalism used to be dominated by the medium of film, where the capturing of subjects wasn't guaranteed or actualized until the film development stage and working in the darkroom. This visual montage of film images narrates the environment of the Skytrain and its immediate surroundings on either side on the Stalewasem Bridge, as well as pieces of the photo development process that is becoming a lost practice. What are your thoughts on using film photography for journalism in the modern world?
The agreement for the future site of the City Centre Arena at 104 Ave. and King George Highway was led by Mayor Brenda Locke, who is up for re-election in Surrey this month. Photo taken Oct. 3 2026.
I adapted the image like I did for Instagram because when people are scrolling, they only look at each image for a few seconds unless something sparks further interest. I think the B&W background adds more visual interest to the image, and highlights the content being addressed.
